Where: Kansas Memorial Union, 6th Floor. Detailed directions and parking instructions can be found below.

1301 Jayhawk Blvd, Lawrence, KS 66045

Who: This concert is FREE and open to the public and all members of the Lawrence and KU community are encouraged to attend! No ticket or RSVP is required.

Where do I park?

The venue is marked on the map below with a star and is accessible from both sides of the building.

Because this recital will take place on a weekend, many of the nearby campus lots will be open, numbered 16, 91, 94, 92, and 53 on the map. These can all be accessed via Jayhawk Boulevard after navigating to the Union. These will be free to park.

The closest parking garage, MSPK (Mississippi Parking Garage), is connected directly to the Union- however, will cost a small fee to park.

When should I arrive?

If you are interested in seeing both the installation and the recital, it is recommended to plan to arrive at the Union between 6:30 and 7 to provide ample time to park, get to the recital space, and enjoy the installation before the recital begins.

What is this installation?

The installation, titled "How We Are Now", is a combination of objects, video, audio, and images displayed in an immersive space that the audience is invited to explore. There will be many different screens and speakers, so each point in the room will provide a different perspective of the art. There will be more information about the meaning and process behind the piece provided at the entrance so you can read about the installation as you walk through. It is not a strict time-based work, so you could spend as little or as long as you like exploring the space.

What if I can't attend?

While we are unfortunately unable to live stream this event, high-quality video and audio documentation will be posted to Carter Crosby's Youtube as well as this website in Summer 2023.
